SIME builds management software (bookings, billing, reporting, restaurant orders) serving hundreds of clients from a central system, on a database of 580+ interconnected tables and 100+ million records. Growth had forced clients to be split across several databases to ease the load and complaints about slowness.

My job: analyze those databases and, through query and index optimization, design the unification of all the data into a single efficient database without scaling the hardware (RAM/CPU) much at all. The improvement is already built and in validation on a test server.

A personal project I built as a test to break into data analysis in professional cycling:

• UCI difficulty analyzer: using web scraping of the UCI ranking, it places the team's riders and estimates the difficulty level needed to score UCI points according to the roster.
• Race profile predictor: anticipates the characteristics of each race and assigns it a difficulty rating to plan objectives and strategy.
